Joyful Day!
August is a perfect
month to restructure our schedules and find a comfortable routine, and I hope
you will join me in including some yoga practice into your scheduling. And speaking of routine, the green August
we’re having this year is anything but! I’m used to gazing out
over a crunchy beige yard and watching thirsty leaves drop from the trees
this time of year. Instead, we are
being treated to a feast of lush green coolness at a time when we’re used to parched
grounds and dust-covered everything. I
went to dust my furniture the other day and was amazed to find that it didn’t
need it – oh happy day! Perhaps we can
use all of this “liveness” in our surroundings to bring about a Springlike
energy to the late summer months.
Let’s breathe in all that extra oxygen out there and be invigorated by
the verdant beauty of this moment right now. Namaste, Margie Our evening classes will begin next
week! Evening classes will meet on
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:45 beginning August 7. Come join us!! I am most pleased to introduce two
fabulous teachers who will be helping me at the studio. Tom Ferree trained under Richard Freeman in Gaby Frome also trained in I am also pleased to introduce Mona Desai who is currently assisting
me on Tuesday mornings and who is studying to become an RYT. Mona has been a student of mine for some
time and we truly enjoy her enthusiastic nature and her loving spirit. No Class Sat, August 18Please
be aware that there will be no yoga class on Saturday, August 18 due to an
awesome martial arts tournament being held at our location at Martial Arts Fitness. Mudra of the Month (a mudra is a hand
posture)
This
month, we will be working with Gyan
Mudra – formed by placing the tip of the index finger to the tip of the
thumb and the rest of the fingers are kept straight together This
mudra increases memory power and concentration; reduces mental stress or
tension; helps to relieve indecisiveness, depression, frustrations and
agitation; evokes a feeling of happiness; can help with sleeping disorders;
strengthens the muscular system |
